Journey Till Goa
This was my first trip to Goa ever and it was one of the best unplanned journeys. Bitter truth of this journey was Goa trip was with parents, but though i was excited. Now the time was of 1st week of May which is not a recommended time to go to Goa. Unplanness rate for this journey was so high that we left for Goa in the evening and it was decided in the afternoon. Except the hotels nothing was booked. The route was also not decided, not even the mode of transport. Anyways let’s go to Goa...
We left Baroda at night, It was a sleeper coach bus which accompanied us till Pune only. There is nothing much to write about that night, then in morning i saw Mumbai sleeping. I had never seen Mumbai before this, but i heard a lot of things about the place. Probably i
saw Mumbai when it was sleeping. For going to Pune you need to cross Navi Mumbai, fortunately i saw Navi Mumbai. I saw all the local stations coming on the way and slowly and gradually Monday vibes were coming as people were rushing to their jobs, offices, work etc.

Then comes another exciting part, it was Mumbai-Pune Expreesway. It was one of the best Expressways i have ever seen. It was a different experience altogether to travel through those clean roads, tilted mountains, some deep valleys, tunnels, etc. All of these things were perfectly set as it was a pleasant sunny weather. Moreover my heart becomes happy when i see lush blue sky with patchy cloud and sunlight coming through the crevices of them. After reaching Pune we had to find certain or the other way till Goa. Lot of stuff happened, it was already afternoon. Finally we got connection till Kolhapur which was the only convenient way for us.
Not much interesting stuff took place, as i slept in the bus, beacuse in between these two journyes i was running a bit through ideas and discussions about what to do next. The bus took 2 halts till Kolhapur. First was the fuel break, my eyes chucked open when i was deep into my dreams. It took little time so i got out of the bus and the scene was super amazing. I dont have anything to compare the amount of silence that place had. The fuel pump was on the left of the way we were going, ahead of the pump there was a valley probably, i don’t remember the depth. Around that valley some more beautiful tilted mountains where there, their inclination towards the ground was adding beauty to the scene. The most usual voice zoop-zoop of vehicles passing by. Second was the evening breakfast halt at around 4:30-5:00. Nothing much that place was giving slight of South Indian and typical goanese vibes.
We reached Kolhapur in between 5;30 to 6 PM. Fortunately we missed the last bus from Kolhapur till Panji. There might be some more but they were late, so the task was to get out of Kolhapur before the sunsets. We were lucky enough to get a good deal of a taxi till Panji. We didn’t had anything much as were travelling so, we tried local Kolhapuri street food. It was mind blowing.
Now comes the third and final part of the journey. It is one of my favourite road trips ever. No journey till now has been that special. Definitely it becomes a road trip as we were going by road, only difference was it was taxi and not our own vehicle. Anyways let’s start to the exciting journey. We started at around 7 PM. I saw some finely built bungalows when we were exciting Kolhapur. As we were entering Highway, we saw some local Institutes and Universities. Then it was the fuel break and after it, we were moving ahead. The highway was so big, so broad, and so clean; the words can hardly make justice. We were on Pune-Banglore Highway; it was one of the best and ultimate expressways i have ever come across. Tales and Turns of highway of the highway were touching up and it was shaped with such beautiful scenes that words can't make justice. Moving ahead it was the time of sunset, but the one point which i saw was, i mean i required more than 360 degree rotation. We were on a C shaped road and in the gap of C handsome mountains were standing; they were giving vibes like highways of abroad.
this is not captured by me, but this is how the highway is |
There is a turning point where two roads diverge one to the side of Goa and other to Bangalore. Now the Sun was set and it was all dark, wasn’t able to see anything it was a straight road until few kilometers. Then in between took a small nap, then when i woke up we were on some mountainous roads, the driver was telling the stories about few accidents which took place there. As soon as the patch was over saw some local liquor bars, now of course i am surprised to see because i am from a dry state. Then we continued our journey further, now some interesting took place when we were almost leaving Sawantwadi behind, i don’t know why? It was something around 10PM, talking about 3 lanes not lanes actually, but 2 of them were meeting at the same place, just like “V” shape. We entered one of it and then i forced to stop the car as i saw something lightning on right hand side, which i felt it was something different. Then i came out and went to see a little ahead and there was nothing, from that particular distance am a scene of murder mystery was looking. There were yellow street lights gleaming through, now some part of the car was in dark some was in the street light and it was quite as hell like i was able to hear my clock ticking. Those street lights were bright enough to make the scene very much real.
